Giwojna, Carol Jean (25 February 1954 – 16 January 2021)
Carol J. Giwojna, 66, of Stanley, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at
Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Carol Jean Lane was born on February 25, 1954 in Stanley, the daughter of Fred
D. and Laura C. (Mock) Lane. She was raised in Stanley and received her
education at Stanley area schools. After completing her education, Carol moved
to Oklahoma and served in the Peace Corp. She later worked in Guthrie, OK for
the U.S. Postal Service. Carol moved back to Stanley in 1980 and was later
united in marriage to Donald E. Giwojna on October 1, 1982 in Chippewa Falls,
WI. She then worked at the Clark County Health Care Center, in Owen, WI, as a
nursing assistant. In 1988, she started her own business, taking care of the
elderly in her home.
She had many interests, but she especially enjoyed growing hosta, shopping on
e-Bay, buying antiques, taking road trips, and visiting her family, especially
her grandchildren.
Carol was a member of Trinity Vineyard Church, previously a member of the
Mission of Hope Church where she was a Sunday School teacher, the Red Hat
Society, and the Helping Hand Club.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Donald, of Stanley; 2 sons: John Lane
of Neillsville, and Joseph (Stephanie) Giwojna of Stanley; 4 grandchildren:
Marshall, Jacob, Jaxson, and Emilia; 4 siblings: Joyce Slowatyniec of Neenah,
Donald (Cindy) Lane of Merrillan, Beverly (Bill) Abramczuk of Thorp, Steven
(Kim) Lane of Thorp; 2 sisters-in-law: Barbara Lane of Thorp, and Pearl
Tomkowiak of Stanley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Patricia Hazuga; and 4
brothers: Johnny, Edward, James and Robert Lane.
Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Trinity
Vineyard Church, rural Stanley. Visitation will be held at the church on
Thursday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Pastor Donald Hakes will
officiate, and burial will follow in Eidsvold Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jimmey Lane, Fred Lane, Paul Hazuga, Sean Weber, Eric
Kmieciak, and Frank Slowatyniec.
