Frank Neumann Sr., a German immigrant, arrived here in 1877, bought a tract of
woodland north and west of Spencer in the Town of Unity (Clark Co.) and began to
convert it into a farm. In 1911 he sold his farm to his son Carl, who in turn
sold it to his son, H. W. Neumann in 1937. The present owner is his son, Gerald
Neumann, a member of the fourth generation to live there. The present size of
the farm is 120 acres, with a total herd of 80 cattle, including 40 dairy cows.
