Franz and Amelia Krause, German immigrants, came here in 1878 and purchased land
from Francis Parrette, out of which they created a good farm for themselves and
their children. The farm, now owned and operated by their grandson, Bernard
Krause and family, is located in the Town of Brighton, and north of Spencer. It
now comprises 210 acres, upon which are kept a herd of 87 cattle, including 47
milk cows.
