Neumann, Herman Rudolph (17 January 1889 - 25 January 1983)
H. R. Neumann, 94, of the Continental Nursing Home, Abbotsford, formerly of
Spencer, Wisconsin, died Tuesday at the home.
Services will be Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev.
David Ault will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers
will be Franklyn, David, Neil, Donald and Walter Jr. Luepke and Eugene
Rindfleisch.
Visitation will be Thursday at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.
He was born Jan. 17, 1889, at Jefferson, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel
(Wilhelmina Brunn) Neumann. He received his education at Spencer schools and
also attended the Molar Barber School, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
He married Sophie Oelrich Luepke April 17, 1917, at St. John’s Lutheran Church;
she died December 1, 1940. He farmed, was a beekeeper, a nursery man and also
was a barber, in the Town of Brighton, until retiring in 1970.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and is survived by four stepsons,
George, Walter, Emil and Herman Luepke, all of Spencer; one stepdaughter, Milda
Rindfleisch of Spencer; 15 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
He was also predeceased by a grandson, a great-grandson, three brothers and four
sisters.
