Nelson, Anton Edward “Tony” (18 August 1945 – 24 January 2021)

Anton E. Nelson “Tony”, 75. of rural Humbird, passed away at his home in hospice care on Sunday morning, January 24, 2021.

Anton Edward Nelson, son of Sherman and Lucille (Cotter) Nelson was born August 18, 1945, in Owen. Tony lived most of his life in the Fairchild area except for a few years when he lived in Kenosha and Willard. Over the years he had been employed as a farm worker, at the Presto Ordnance Plant in Eau Claire, at Badger Cork in Kenosha County, and for the Bar B Truck Stop and Flying J Truck Stop in Black River Falls. Tony was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Liz” Ricafort on Feb. 1, 2002,in Stillwater, MN.

Tony enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was camping, fishing and hunting with family and friends. Tony will be dearly missed by his wife Elizabeth of Humbird; son Christopher (Rowena) Nelson of Black River Falls; grandson C.J. Nelson; 2 great grandchildren, Luhkis and Zabriella Nelson; 3 step daughters, Angel (Melvin) Cosio, Alex Seduco all of Houston, TX, Paola Seduco of Humbird; 2 step grandchildren, Ellie and Gavin; an aunt Claire Van Horn of Price; and other family members.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Lucille; brother Don Nelson; daughter Vicky Loftus; grandson Dave Nelson; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held at a later date with burial in the Fairchild Cemetery.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held Saturday, May 22, 2021, starting a noon at the Humbird Rod and Gun Club on Emerson Lake (Humbird Pond) in Humbird.
