Engstrom, Erland T. (7 October 1902 – 29 September 1976)
A retired electric company employee, Erland T. Engstrom, 73, of Neillsville,
died Wednesday, September 29, following a lingering illness. Services were held
Friday from the Neillsville United Church of Christ with Rev. Gary Clark
officiating. Burial was in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Arrangements were made
by the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home.
Mrs. Mae Peters sand, “Rock of Ages” and “How Great Thou Art.” She was
accompanied by Mrs. Deon Spangler on the organ.
Pallbearers were: Heron Van Gorden, Ole Aspen, John Roberts, Milo R. Mabie, Fred
Vornholt and Richard Albrecht.
The son of James and Selma Anderson Engstrom, Erland Engstrom was born October
7, 1902, at Elburn, Ill. He received his early education in Woodstock, Ill., and
later attended electrical school in Chicago. Mr. Engstrom was employed by the
Western Electric Co. for 39 years. He retired in 1964 and moved to Neillsville
where he lived for the remainder of his lifetime.
His marriage to the former Elsie Guk took place July 9, 1934 in Clark County.
Mr. Engstrom was a member of the United Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, and a son, Edward Engstrom of Oconomowoc, and three
grandchildren.
