Zschernitz, Thomas (16 January 1947 – 20 January 2021) With Flag
Thomas Zschernitz, age 74 of Neillsville, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday,
January 20, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.
He was born Jan. 16, 1947 in Neillsville, to Louis and Genevieve (Irish)
Zschernitz.
Tom graduated from Neillsville High School. After graduating, he spent 6 years
in the National Guard. Tom married Carolyn (Kluckhohn) on Aug. 12, 1967 in
Merrillan.
Tom and Carolyn had 2 children, Penny (Zschernitz) Parkin and Jerry Zschernitz.
He worked at Nelson Muffler during the day and for a while at the foundry at
night. He worked at Nelson Muffler for 40 years until they closed. Then he got a
job at Leason for 2 years till they closed. Then he retired.
He enjoyed riding his Can Am Spider and going to lunch in his Can AM Defender
(side by side) with family, friends, and his dog Oscar.
Tom is survived by his wife Carolyn; their children: Penny and Jerry; siblings:
Larry, Gary (Margie), Jayne (John) Perrine, Terry, Alan (Karen), Joel (Darlene),
and Melodies (Gary) Foster; brothers and sisters-in-law: Jack and June Kluckhohn,
Patricia and Manfred Weisgerber; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death are his parents Louie and Genevieve Zschernitz; in-laws
Marion and Dolores Kluckhohn; brother Ronnie; sister-in-law Joyce; and nephews
Scott and Joshua.
A celebration of life will be at a later date.
