Stuhr, Mayme C. (17 April 1902 - 4 February 1983)
SPENCER -- Mrs. William (Mayme C.) Stuhr, 80, Spencer, died early today at the
Colonial Nursing Home, Abbotsford.
Services will be at St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer. The Rev. David
Ault will officiate and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Marshfield.
Visitation will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Spencer.
The former Mayme C. Hopfensperger was born April 17, 1902, in Dorchester, the
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. William (Nina Markwardt) Hopfensperger. She and William
G. Stuhr were married April 19, 1921, in Marshfield, They observed their golden
wedding anniversary in 1971. She farmed with her husband in the Stratford area
until his death in 1974. She then moved to Spencer, where she resided for four
years before entering the nursing home in Abbotsford.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, North Spencer, Surviving are two
sons, Harold of Mishicot and Ervin of Syring; five daughters, Mrs. Henry
(Eleanor) Bentzler of Marshfield, Mrs. Carl Roehl of Chili, Mrs. Victor
(Margaret) Foss of Bluffton, Indiana, Mrs. John (Mildred) Ermis of Milwaukee and
Mrs. Herbert (Leona) Wachholz of Spencer; 14 grandchildren; 19
great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bernard of Mosinee and Harvey of Marshfield;
and two sisters, Mrs. Alex (Hattie) Wagner of Marshfield and Mrs. George (Mabel)
Treutel of Marshfield.
She was also predeceased by her parents, four brothers and a grandson.
