Haas, Helene J. (11 July 1899 – 26 November 1976)

Funeral services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Mrs. Helene J. Haas, a lifelong resident of the Neillsville area who died Friday, November 26, at the age of 77. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated, and burial followed in the parish cemetery. The Rosary was recited Sunday evening at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, where the body of Mrs. Haas was in state.

The daughter of John and Adeline Simon Marx, Mrs. Haas was born July 11, 1899, in Clark County and was educated in local schools. She taught school in the rural Neillsville area for several years. On May 14, 1923, she was married in Neillsville to Bernard J. Haas. Mr. Haas died May 23, 1973. Mrs. Haas was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and of its P.C.C.W.

“Surviving are three children, James Haas of Barron, Mrs. Charles (Marilyn) Meyer of Ashton, Ia., and Joanne Haas of Neillsville; two sisters, Mrs. Cecilia Caton of Eau Claire and Mrs. Josephine Dimmerman of White Bear Lake, Mn.; and seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
