Klauer, Marie A. (31 December 1888 – 27 December 1976)
A longtime resident of the Town of Seif, Mrs. Marie a. Klauer, 87, of Rt. 3
Neillsville, died December 27 in Neillsville following a brief illness. Services
are to be held on what would have been her 88th birthday, Friday, December 31,
at 1:30 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Globe, with the Rev. Ralph Stuebs
officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body of Mrs. Klauer will be in state at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home from
3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today (Thursday) and until noon Friday, when it will be taken
to the church to lie in state for an hour before services.
Marie Klauer, daughter of Frederick W. and Augusta Goerke Doebler, was born
December 31, 1888, at Brandenburg, Germany, and received her education there.
She came to the United States in 1912 and lived for a time at Waterloo. She
worked in Milwaukee for several years.
Her marriage to Hugo W. Klauer took place December 25, 1919, in Helenville. The
couple moved to the Town of Seif, where they farmed, and she lived for the rest
of her life. Mr. Klauer preceded his wife in death on September 2 of this year.
Mrs. Klauer was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was an honorary member
of its Ladies Aid Society.
A daughter, Mrs. Leo (Gertrude) Henchen of Neillsville survives, together with
one brother, Emil Doebler of Campbellsport, and three grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
