Stanton, Irene M. (10 October 1909 - 17 February 1983)
NEILLSVILLE -- Funeral services will be Monday at the Gesche Funeral Home for
Irene M. Stanton, 73, of Route 1, Neillsville, who died Thursday at Memorial
Hospital.
The Re. Paul Forde, pastor of Calvary Lutheran Church, will officiate and burial
will be in the Neillsville Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Zank, Wally Anderson, Franklin Hrasky, Kasimir Kolano,
Fred Finck and Gerald Iuehn.
The former Irene M. Nichols was born October 10, 1909 at Taylor, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Cora) Nichols. She received he education there, graduating
from Taylor High School. She attended Teachers Training College, Black River
Falls.
She was married October 26, 1928 at Waukegan, Illinois, to J.D. Stanton. They
reside in Neillsville where she assisted in the operation of the J. D. Stanton
Grain and Livestock business. Her husband died June 11, 1966. She was a member
of Calvary Lutheran Church.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna Erickson of Neillsville; two step-daughters,
Mrs. A,J, (Joyce) Hines of Alexandria, Louisiana, and Joan Stout of
Fayetteville, Arkansas; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; 10
step-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.
She also was predeceased by two brothers, Wallace and Alan.
