Winter, Nina (28 January 1907 - 26 February 1983)

GRANTON -- Mrs. Arno (Nina) Winter, 76, Route 1, Granton, died Saturday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.

Committal services will be Tuesday at Zion American Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Grant. The Rev. Marnard Stokka will officiate. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation. Memorial services will be March 6 at Zion American Lutheran Church, Town of Grant.

The former Nina Stoker was born January 28, 1907, in Owen, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond (Clara Kuester) Stoker.

Prior to her marriage she taught school for two years in the Roder School, Town of Grant.

She and Arno Winter were married February 22, 1908, in the parsonage of the church. They farmed for two years in the Town of Lynn and in 1930 moved to their present farm in the Town of Grant.

She was a member of Zion American Lutheran Church and a past president of its ladies Aid; and a Sunday School teacher.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. George (Lola) Eloranta and Mrs. Lorraine Porath, both of Owen, and Mrs. Glen (Ethel) Riplinger of Port Edwards; one son, Richard of Granton; 18 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Allen Newcomb of Delta, Iowa. She was predeceased by her husband on January 18, 1983.

Memorials are requested in her name to Zion American Lutheran Church.
