John, 2nd Lt. William A.
Marine 2nd Lt. William A. John, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy John, Route 2,
Neillsville, was commissioned to his present rank upon graduation from Officer
Candidate School.
The 10-week school was conducted at the Marine Corps Development and Education
Command in Quantico, Virginia. The course is designed to screen and train
personnel for commissioning as Marine Corps officer by providing instruction in
leadership and basic military subjects and emphasizing esprit de corps and
self-discipline.
John will attend a 21-week officer's Basic School, also at Quantico.
