Koehn, Cheryl Ann (28 September 1959 - 9 March 1983)

ABBOTSFORD -- A rural Owen woman was killed and three other persons hospitalized in a car-pickup truck collision about noon Wednesday on Highway 19, three miles west of Abbotsford.

Cheryl A. Koehn, 23, Route 1 Owen, was pronounced dead at the scene of massive head and chest injuries by Clark County Coroner Robert Lulloff.

Her son, Daniel C. Koehn, 3, was reported in "serious condition" with multiple injuries today at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Also injured in the crash was Duane Meyer, 36, Boyd, the truck driver, who is reported in "good condition," at St. Joseph's Hospital, and a passenger in the truck, David Lorenz, 31, Boyd, who is in '"fair condition." Both suffered multiple injuries.

The accident was attributed to bad weather and icy conditions. Mrs. Koehn and her son were returning to the Owen home after visiting the Colby Clinic.

Services for Mrs. Koehn will be Saturday at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

The former Cheryl Ann Ackerman was born September 28, 1959 in Marshfield, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orlando (Judy Awe) Ackerman. She was a 1977 graduate of Owen-Withee High School. She attended cosmetology schools in Milwaukee and Eau Claire and was a licensed beautician. She and Chris Koehn were married November 18, 1978, in Withee. She was employed at Linda's Beauty Nook in Withee, and also worked as a cook at the 11th Frame Restaurant in Owen,

Survivors include her husband, a son, Daniel, at home; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Ackerman of Owen; four sisters, Mrs. Ken (Colleen) Fritzl, Kathy Ackerman and Michele Ackerman, all of Owen and Tammy Ackerman of Stetsonville; five brothers, Gary Ackerman of St. Louis Park, Minnesota, Kevin, Jeff, Brian and Michael Ackerman, all of Owen; and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ackerman Sr. of Owen.
