--------- McAdam, Bernice B. (Marriage - 5 OCT 1920)
One of the prettiest of the early autumn weddings was solemnized at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Probst, a sister of the bride, on Tuesday afternoon, Oct.
5, 1920, when promptly at four o'clock, Miss Bernice Baine McAdam, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas McAdam of Withee, Clark County, Wis., was united in marriage
to Mr. Harry Paul Raymond of Camp Eustice, Va., Rev. George Crow, pastor of the
M. E. Church of Withee, officiating. Only immediate relatives of the contracting
parties were present.
Following the ceremony a wedding dinner was served the bridal party and guests.
The home was decorated with autumn blossoms.
Mrs. Raymond is a graduate of the Owen High School class of 1914, and is known
to many of the Owen people, having lived here some few years ago, but for the
past two years has been employed in the office of a large department store at
Jamestown, N. D., and since leaving Owen had made her home with her parents at
Withee. She is a young lady of many fine qualities and will no doubt make
numerous friends in her new home.
Mr. Raymond is also a graduate of the Owen High School, class of 1914, and was a
resident of the village of Withee up to about six years ago, when he moved with
his mother to Marshfield, where he remained until war was declared, when he
entered the service. He is now holding a responsible position at Camp Eustis,
with the government, as superintendent of transportation, a position which he
obtained while yet in the service.
Mr. and Mrs. Raymond, after spending a few days visiting here, will leave on
Saturday evening for Camp Eustis, Va., where they will make their future home,
and a host of good wishes go with them from their many friends, both here and at
Withee.
Those from away who were present at the wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Luber,
Mr. and Mrs. Roy Luber, Osten Luber, all of Marshfield, and Mrs. Thomas McAdam
and sons, Roscoe and Alex, and Miss Elsie Laneville of Withee.
