--------- Vanderwegen, Ida (Marriage - 15 JUN 1926)
The Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Withee, Clark County, Wis., was the scene of
a very pretty wedding which was solemnized at nine o'clock Tuesday morning, when
Mr. James Devine of Owen, and Miss Ida Vanderwegen of Withee, were united in
marriage, The Rev. Fr. Eisenman of Abbotsford, officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Vanderwegen, residing three and
a half miles west and south of Withee, and in her past life has been a home
girl. She is a young lady of high standing in the community, and those who know
her have found her an excellent companion.
The groom is a young businessman of Owen, being engaged in the barber business,
and is highly respected by all. He has a large acquaintance of friends who
congratulate him on his marriage.
The young couple was attended by Mr. and Mrs. Gus Vanderwegen, a brother of the
bride, and little Miss Betty Vanderwegen, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank
Vanderwegen, was flower girl. The bride wore a tan embroidered silk dress and
carried a shower bouquet of yellow roses, while the matron of honor wore a deep
tan dress and carried yellow roses.
Following the ceremony the bridal party went to the home of the bride's parents,
where a wedding breakfast was served, which was followed by a reception. Late
that afternoon the young couple left on a wedding trip to Green Bay, Stevens
Point and Appleton, where they will visit with relatives and friends.
Their friends at Withee and Owen extend to them their best wishes for a happy
and prosperous wedded life.
