--------- McCarty, Violet (Marriage - 20 AUG 1928)
A quiet wedding was solemnized Monday, Aug. 20, 1928, when Miss Violet McCarty,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen McCarty of the town of Longwood, Clark County,
Wis., and Mr. Howard Farwell, son of Mr. and Mrs. "Tip" Farwell, were united in
marriage at the M. E. Parsonage at Withee, Rev. W. F. Taylor officiating. The
witnesses of the ceremony were Miss Charlotte McCarty, a sister of the bride,
and Mr. Miller, a nephew of the groom.
The bride, for the past two years, has been teaching at the Longwood schools,
and will hold her position for the coming year. She has been a resident of
Longwood since childhood, and is well and favorably known to the residents of
that vicinity.
The groom, for some time past, has been employed as cheese maker in a factory
three miles south and east of Thorp, and he too, has a large circle of friends
who will wish him well in married life.
The happy couple left following the ceremony for the Twin Cities, where they are
spending the week among relatives and friends. Their friends here extend
congratulations and wish for them a happy wedded life.
