--------- Weaver, Lila (Marriage - 1 JUN 1929)
An early morning wedding was solemnized Saturday at the parsonage of the
Congregational Church, Rev. W. P. Powell officiating, when Miss Lila Weaver of
this city (Owen, Clark County, Wis.), and Kenneth King, son of Mr. and Mrs. Val
King, former residents of this city, were united in marriage. The ceremony was
performed promptly at eight o'clock.
The young people were attended by Mr. Stanley McFarland, a close friend of the
groom, and Miss Lillian Mattson, a friend of the bride. Following the ceremony
the young people went to the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Dempsey, where a
bounteous wedding breakfast was served.
After the breakfast, Mr. and Mrs. King left immediately for Popple Lake, where
they enjoyed a few days outing before returning here. He is employed in the
Golden Crust Bakery, a position which he has held for the past three years. Mrs.
King for a long time was employed as bookkeeper in the office of her father, the
Weaver Construction Co. Both are well and favorably known in the city and their
friends extend congratulations and best wishes for a long wedded life.
