--------- Vater, Alice K. (Marriage - 24 AUG 1929)
A quiet home wedding was solemnized Saturday afternoon at the home of the
bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Vater, one and one-half miles south of the
village of Withee, Clark County, Wis., when their daughter, Alice Kathryn, was
united in marriage to Mr. Raymond Jones of Randolph, Wis. Only immediate
relatives of the contracting parties and a few intimate friends were present at
the wedding. Rev. W. Taylor of the M. E. Church of Withee officiated. The
service took place at three o'clock.
The bride has recently been teaching in the public schools at Randolph, and it
was while so engaged that her acquaintance with her husband was made. She is a
very fine young lady, having received her early education in the Withee schools,
and then later going to the university, where she completed her school work.
The groom is a young businessman of Randolph, being engaged in the oil business
as a jobber, and the young people will make that village their future home, and
will be at home to their friends after September 1st. They have the best wishes
of their many friends for a happy wedded life.
