Gonering, Marlous B. (28 October 1932 – 28 February 2021)
Marlous B. Gonering, age 88, of Marshfield, passed away on Sunday, February 28,
2021 at Aster Retirement Community.
Marlous was born October 28, 1932 to Louis and Alice (Hein) Mielke in Colby
Wisconsin. She attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Marshfield and graduated
from Marshfield Senior High School in 1950. On May 10, 1952 she was united in
marriage to Jerome J. Gonering at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.
She was employed as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney, assistant city clerk of
Marshfield, and a nurse’s aide at Saint Joseph’s Hospital where she retired.
Marlous enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, dancing, old time music,
gardening, and especially flowers. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Choir
and PCCW.
She is survived by her son Michael (Elaine) Gonering, 2 granddaughters Keri
(Kyle) Gorski and their daughters Abbey and Brynley and Heidi Gonering (fiancé
Ryan Pribbernow) and his daughter Lauren. She is further survived by sisters
Geraldine Cordell and Shela Bassuener and sisters-in-law Patricia Schiller and
Sharon Gonering.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerry on Feb. 1, 1973, her
brother Galen Mielke, brothers-in-law Ray Cordell, Darrel Bassuener, and Charles
Gonering, and special friend Norbert Michels.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday March 4, 2021 at
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Marshfield with Rev. Keith Kitzhaber and Deacon
Ray Draeger officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven
Cemetery. Social distancing is encouraged and wearing masks will be required.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday from 9:30 A.M. until
the time of service at the church.
The family wishes to thank Heartland Hospice and the staff at Aster Retirement
Community where she resided the last few years.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Sacred Heart Future Family
Life Program.
