Creed, Saima O. (1 July 1908 - 18 March 1983)

Unity -- Mrs. Noyle E. (Saima O.) Creed, 74, of Unity died Friday morning in Rio Grande Regional Hospital, McAllen, Texas.

Services will be Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity. The. Rev. Paul R. Engwall, chaplain at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, will officiate. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery. Visitation at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby.

The former Saima O. Maatta was born July 1, 1908 in Ironwood, Michigan, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Maatta. She graduated from Westboro High School in 1925 and the Wausau Business Institute, where she took a secretarial course. She was employed as a secretary at the Institute prior to her marriage.

She and Nyole E. Creed were married October 26, 1929 in Unity. She was a clerk in the Unity Post Office for 27 years, retiring in 1968.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, where she taught Sunday School for several years, and also served as secretary and treasurer for the women's organization of the church.

Survivors include her husband; her mother, Mrs. Hilma Maatta of Ogema; one son, William Creed of Rhinelander; two grandsons; two great-granddaughters; two sisters, Mrs. Osbjorn (Hilma) Christoffersen of Huntsville, Alabama and Mrs. Toby (Ann) Hakala of Chicago; and two brothers, John Maatta of Ogema and Andrew Maatta of Minocqua.

She was predeceased by her father and one brother.
