Beyer, Dorothy E. (26 September 1922 – 5 March 2021)
Dorothy E. Beyer, age 98, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Friday, March 5, 2021
at Arborview Court in Wisconsin Rapids.
Dorothy was born September 26, 1922 in Stanberry, to Otto and Louise (Schroeder)
Tramm. She graduated from 8th Grade at St. John’s Lutheran School; was confirmed
at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Neillsville, and attended high school in
Hayward, and then graduated from Neillsville High School.
Dorothy married Elmer Beyer on July 25, 1942 in Neillsville. He preceded her in
death on September 23, 2012. They lived on a farm in Globe, and then moved to
Neillsville, where she worked in a bakery. In 1961, Dorothy and Elmer moved to
Wisconsin Rapids where she worked as seamstress for many different retail
stores.
Dorothy was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and belonged to the “Willing
Workers”. She loved sewing, altering and embroidering for family and friends.
She loved watching her grandchildren with all their activities. She was a big
fan of the Milwaukee Brewers.
Dorothy is survived by three sons, Larry Beyer of Neillsville, Allan (Sue) Beyer
of Rice, MN and Roger (Gayle) Beyer of Nekoosa; two daughters, Linda (Bob)
Schmick of Chippewa Falls, and Nancy (George) Porter of Thunder Bay, Canada; 13
grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 10
step-great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer; one grandson; one
great-granddaughter; two sisters and one brother.
Funeral Services are 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at St. Paul’s Evangelical
Lutheran Church, Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Rev. Peter Plagenz and Rev. Phillip Pitt
will officiate. Visitation will be at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on
Tuesday from 11:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Burial will be at Restlawn Memorial Park.
Ritchay Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be designated to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and
School.
