Potts, Alma (28 March 1983)

Mrs. Burdette J. (Alma) Potts, who resides at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Francis (Madeline) Clintsman at 308 Crocker St. in Greenwood, became 100 years old March 28.

Mrs. Potts, the former Alma Rich, was born March 28, 1883 to Mr. and Mrs. Herman (Mary) Rich in Toma County, Iowa.

Before her marriage she operated a millinery shop. She and Burdette J. Potts were married September 27, 1905 in South Dakota and lived there and in Iowa before coming to Greenwood in 1928, locating on a farm north of Chrisitie.

After her husband's death March 17, 1968, she lived with her daughter, first on a farm south of Greenwood and since 1973 in the city of Greenwood.

Besides her daughter Madeline, she has a son, LaRue Potts of Chrisitie. Another son, Warren died in infancy. hew two sisters and three brothers are deceased.
