Fairfield News --On Saturday evening, January 3, 1920 there was an assemblage of
relatives, neighbors, and friends, to the number of fifty-three at the home of
Eugene Cushman, who came to greet him on the 65th anniversary of his birth, and
among those present was Mrs. Dan Smith and three children of Owen, Wisconsin.
It is needless to say, the evening was a joyous one, and those present felt it
was good to be there. As a token of regard, the neat little sum of seven dollars
was presented to Mr. Cushman. Gene was happy and doubtless felt like many others
before him, that it is nice to be remembered and to feel that we have a place in
the hearts of our friends. May Gene live to see many more joyous birthdays is
the wish of his many friends.
