Witte, Richard R. (8 September 1927 - 11 April 1983)

COLBY -- Services for Richard R. Witte, 55, of Riplinger will be Thursday at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby. Mr. Witte was found dead Monday at his home as the result of a heart condition.

The Rev. Charles W. Strong will officiate. Burial will be in North Green Grove Cemetery. (Actual burial appears to be St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery) Visitation will be at the Rux Funeral Home, Colby.

He was born September 8, 1927, in the Town of Unity, Clark County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Witte Sr. He served with the U.S. Army from September 1945 to April 1946.

He married Bernadine Knecht October 20, 1945 in Clark County; she died march 3, 1977. He farmed in the Town of Unity until 1963 when he moved to Riplinger. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Paulette) Schmitt of Marshfield; a son, David of Janesville; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Foelsch of Grandview, Missouri and two brothers, Wilbur Witte of Drummond and Hubert Witte of Waunakee.

He was also predeceased by his parents and a sister.
