Golomski, Edwin P. (12 November 1917 – 25 August 1976) With Flag

Funeral services were held Friday from St. Mary’s Catholic Church for Edwin P. Golomski, 58, of Neillsville, who died Wednesday, August 25, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. The Rev. Joseph Henseler officiated, and burial followed in the parish cemetery. The Rosary was recited Thursday evening at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, where the body of Mr. Golomski was in state.

Edwin Golomski, son of Valentine and Helen Selk Golomski, was born November 12, 1917, in the Rosholt area and was educated there. He attended St. Adelbert’s School. After completing his education, he moved to Milwaukee and worked in the foundry industry. He was in the U.S. Army for four years during WWII, serving in the European theater. Following his discharge from the service, he returned to Milwaukee where he was again employed in the foundry industry.

Mr. Golomski worked for Barclay Industries for 20 years and moved to Neillsville when the firm opened its foundry here several years ago. He retired in March of this year, because of failing health. Mr. Golomski was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, of the Order of the Moose, No.1602 and of AMVETS.

His marriage to the former Bernice Nigbor took place February 7m 1942, in Milwaukee. She survives, together with six sons, Kenneth, Russell and Glenn of Milwaukee, Dennis of Neillsville, Marlin of Milwaukee and Gary of Neillsville: six sisters, Mrs. Sarah Miramontes of Milwaukee, Mrs. Regina Rybicki of Rosholt, Mrs. Theresa Ostrowski, Mrs. Edward (Bernette) Jozwiak and Mrs. Robert (Lorraine) Glieneki of Milwaukee and Mrs. Grace Ostrowski of Menasha; and four brothers, Henry of Rosholt, Raymond of Milwaukee and Harry and Lawrence of Rosholt.

Pallbearers were Harvey Neuendorf, John Trunkel, Raymond Golomski, Maynard Nigbor, Peter Rombalski and Manuel Miramontes

Mrs. Glen Short was the accompanist for St. Mary’s choir.

Those from out-of-town attending the services came from Milwaukee, West Allis, Oak Creek, Berlin, Menasha, Rosholt, Bevent, Wausau, Menomonee Falls, Eagle River, Amherst, Sheboygan, Mequon, Schofield, Racine, Galloway, Green Bay, Marathon City, Mosinee, Friendship, Stevens Point, Brown Deer, Wisconsin Rapids and St. Francis.
