Faber, Joan M. (Marriage - 1976)
Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Galetka, Jr., who were married August 17 at the bride’s
home in Neillsville by County Judge Michael Brennan, have returned from a
wedding trip to Wisconsin Dells and are living at 222 Park St.
The new Mrs. Galetka, the former Mrs. Joan M. Faber, is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald M. Smith of Omro. She was presented in marriage by her brother,
James E. Smith. Her husband is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles J. Galetka, Sr.,
Rt. 1 Neillsville.
For her wedding, the bride chose a sleeveless gown of cream colored,
pique-effect polyester knit fashioned with a scoop neckline and empire
waistline. Her matching cape-back jacket featured wide, ruffle-edged sleeves. A
wicker basket held pink roses, yellow starburst pompons, baby’s breath and
greenery.
The couple was attended by Mrs. Karen S. Arndt of Marshfield and Bruno Pohl.
Mrs. Arndt wore an empire-waist gown of polyester knit with a white, shell
effect bodice, yellow skirt and short, puffed sleeves. Her flowers were a
smaller version of the bride’s bouquet.
Parents of the newlyweds will honor them at a reception September at the
American Legion Hall in Neillsville. The bride was honored at a prenuptial
shower given by Mrs. Arndt, Sue Daniels and Mrs. Lois Galetka.
A graduate of Omro High School who also attended Madison Business College, Mrs.
Galetka is employed as a bookkeeper by a local firm. Her husband graduated from
Neillsville High School and works for a local construction company.
