Word has been received by relatives here concerning the death of Eva Shumway
McKinney, 94, on August 13. Mrs. McKinney was buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery,
Hollywood, Ca.
She is survived by five children, Gladys of Belvaire, Wa., Ray of Colorado, and
Fay, Neva and Dee of Van Nuys, Ca.; by a sister-in-law, Vera Shumway of
Neillsville; and by many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. McKinney was born in Pine Valley. After her marriage to Leat McKinney, the
couple spent their first years together in the Columbia area. They moved to
Nebraska in 1917, then moved to Missouri and to South Dakota, where Mr. Kinney
was killed when he was thrown from a horse while rounding up cattle.
In the 1960s, she moved to Van Nuys to make her home with her children. Mrs.
McKinney fell and broke her hip on June 13 of this year and spent her last days
in the hospital.
