Urlaub Mr. and Mrs. Francis (40th – 20 October 1976)
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Urlaub of Neillsville were honored Sunday morning,
September 12, in observance of their 40th wedding anniversary at the 8 a.m. Mass
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Fr. Henseler officiated.
A noon anniversary dinner held for the family at the Wildcat Inn, was followed
by an afternoon open house from 2 to 5 p.m.
Francis Urlaub and the former Bernice Lothspeich were married October 20, 1936,
at St. Alphonse’s Church at Langdon, N.D., the home of Mrs. Urlaub. Mr. Urlaub
was born and grew up at Walhalla, N.D.
They lived at Walhalla until 1942 when they moved to San Diego, Ca., where they
lived until 1951. In March of that year, they came to the Neillsville area and
lived on a dairy farm in the Town of Weston for 24 years. The Urlaub’s retired
from farming in April of 1971 and moved to the city.
They have three children: Benny Urlaub, who lives south of Neillsville and is
postmaster at Chili; Mrs. Lee (Janis) Steinhilber, who resides at Wisconsin
Rapids where her husband is employed by the Social Security Administration; and
Mrs. Eugene (Beverly) Bryan of Rt. 1, Neillsville, whose husband is employed by
a construction firm. Mr. and Mrs. Urlaub have 14 grandchildren.
Mrs. Eldon Fleckley of Seattle, Wa., Mrs. Urlaub’s sister who was the bridal
attendant at the wedding, was present for the ceremony, along with her husband,
Eldon. An aunt, Ethel Bouslog, also attended.
Albert Urlaub, of St. Cloud, Mn., the couple’s other attendant, was unable to
attend.
Mr. Urlaub’s sister, Mrs. Andy (Rosina) Ermer of Buffalo, N.Y., was also present
Sunday for the anniversary observance.
Guests from Wisconsin Rapids, Neillsville, Granton, Loyal and Eau Claire
attended as well.
