Edward Nelson Hull was born on April 27, 1919 in Owen, the son of Wallace D. and Orpha G. (Eisenbise) Hull. He was raised and received his education in Owen, graduating from Owen High School in 1937. Ed was united in marriage to Marian J. Haas on March 5, 1946 in Neillsville. He joined the U.S. Air Force in October 1940 and made the military his career for 25 years. After retiring from the Air Force on July 1, 1964, Ed worked for the Civil Service in communications.

He had many interests, but especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, putting his private pilot's license to use flying airplanes, and flying remote control airplanes.

Ed was a very active member of the Thorp American Legion where he was a past Post Commander and was previously a tax collector for Clark County.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, Marian, of College Station, TX; his children: Joyce During of Cortland, NY, Jackie (Jon) Nance of College Station, TX, and Jeffrey Hull of Stanley; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law: Sheila Hull of East Peoria, IL; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; one son, James; his son-in-law: Joe During; 4 brothers: Frank, Robert, David and Bruce Hull; and 2 sisters: Alta Lund-Schilling and Orpha Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Thorp Funeral Home, in Thorp, with Rev. Baskaran Sandhiyagu officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, and his grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Military rites will be conducted by the Thorp American Legion Post #118. Visitation will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, April 9, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and again on Saturday, from 10 a.m. until time of service.
