Makovec, Marilyn K. (6 Dec 1975)
Wedding vows were exchanged in a reverent ceremony at Holy Rosary Catholic
Church in Owen, Wisconsin, between Marilyn K. Makovec and Kim L. Frederickson,
both of Storm Lake. Father James E. Coke untied the couple in a double ring
ceremony at 2 p.m., December 6, 1975. Nuptial music was provided by Rowene
Mahoney at the organ and Karen Pearson, vocal soloist.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Makovec and Mrs. Theone Frederickson are parents of the
couple.
Given in marriage by her parents, the bride was elegant in an empire style floor
length gown of soft white jersey, styled with a monk’s hood edged with a band of
white for framing her face. A band of fur edged the cuffs of the long fitted
sleeves. A row of tiny covered buttons from the neck to the waistline accented
the back of the bodice. A long train flowed gracefully back from the gown. The
bridal bouquet was an arrangement of miniature red roses, stephanotis and baby’s
breath and trailing ivy.
The bride’s sister, Lori Makovec of Owen, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were
Cindy Mohr, Menomonie, Wis., Bonnie Stern of Storm Lake, sister of the groom,
and Gayle Frederickson, Iowa City, sister of the groom. The bride’s niece, Chris
Wolf, of Wausau, Wis., was flower girl.
The groom was attended by his brothers, Jeff Frederickson as best man, Randy
Frederickson of Owen, Rodney Frederickson of Stanley, Wis., and Kurt
Frederickson of Owen. Mike Stern of Storm Lake, a nephew of the groom, was ring
bearer. Serving as ushers were Brad Snydengaard of Manchester, nephew of the
groom, and Lynn Hodnett of Owen, Wisconsin.
Before leaving on their wedding trip to Denver and Colorado Springs, they were
honored at a wedding dinner in the church dining room and a reception at the
Sword, Colby, Wis.
The new Mrs. Frederickson is a 1973 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, and
attended North Central Technical Institute in Wausau for one year. She has been
employed as a secretary at First National Bank of Denver. She is now employed by
Pendleton & Pendleton law firm in Storm Lake.
The groom, also a 1873 graduate of Owen-Withee High School, attended Menard
Junior College in Merrill, Wis. For one year, and was employed by Hygrade Foods,
Inc. He is currently an employee of Commercial Signs of Storm Lake.
