O’Leary, Russell P. (21 May 1904 – 16 October 1976)
A lifelong resident of the Town of Mentor, Russell P. O’Leary, 72, of Humbird,
died Saturday October 16, at Memorial Hospital in Black River Falls following a
lingering illness. Services were held Tuesday from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral
Home with the Rev. Walter Jenswold officiating. Burial was in the Town of Mentor
Cemetery, rural Humbird.
Russell O’Leary, son of Peter and Emma Putman O’Leary was born May 21, 1904, in
the Humbird area and was educated in schools there. Upon completing his formal
education, he farmed in the Town of Mentor all his life. He was preceded in
death by his first wife.
On April 2, 1946, he was married to the former Unita Pierce in Neillsville.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, Unita, include three children, Alton O’Leary
and Mrs. Raymond (Cornelia) Kopp of Humbird and Donald Pierce of Two Rivers; two
sisters, Mrs. Earl (Velva) DeLong of Withee and Mrs. Jake (Viola) Fitzmaurice of
Humbird; and eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
