Sladek, Helen (? - 28 August 1976)
Word has been received here belatedly of the death August 28 of Mrs. Helen
Sladek, 62, of Pinedale, Ca. She died in a Racine hospital following a brief
illness.
Mrs. Sladek was born in Chili, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John
Henning. She later moved to Wadsworth, Il. then, in 1942 to Kenosha, where she
remained until 1976, when she went to Pinedale, Ca., to make her home with a
daughter, Mrs. Donald (Audrey) Awtrey.
Mrs. Sladek attended school in Chili and was graduated from Marshfield High
School. She was employed at the Holiday Village from 1935 until 1963, and from
1963 until her retirement in 1976 at Southern Colony, Kenosha.
Surviving in addition to Mrs, Awtrey are a son, Larry L. of Kenosha; four
sisters, Miss Dora Henning of Tacoma, Wa., Mrs. Everett (Alma) Schilling of
Covington, Oh., Mrs. Walter (Ella) Elmhorst and Mrs. Gordon (Alice) Ritter, both
of Chili.
