Pabich, Mary (17 Jun 1906 – 10 Feb 1976)
Mrs. Peter (Mary) Pabich, 69, Owen, died at 5:20 p.m. Tuesday, February 10, 1976
at the Clark County Heath Care Center.
Services were held on Friday, February 13 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in
Owen, of which she was a member. Reverend Richard Fliss officiated. Interment
was at New St. Hedwig’s Catholic Cemetery in Thorp. The pallbearers were Donald
Marshall, Richard Mengel, Joseph Panek, Mike Kaminski, Ben Koltis and John
Badzinski.
The former Mary Salwach was born June 17, 1906 in Thorp and attended Thorp area
schools. She continued to live in the Thorp area until 1968, when she moved to
Owen. Her marriage to Peter Pabich took place September 1, 1928 at Thorp. He
survives.
Other survivors include four sons, Nobert, Owen, Philip, Ontario, Canada, Jerome
and Patrick, both of Eau Claire; a daughter, Mrs. Fredric (Audrey) Johnson, La
Crosse; three sisters, Mrs. Andrew (Julia) Strzok, Thorp, Mrs. John (Emily)
Kukielka and Mrs. Joseph (Carrie) Prezsmicki, both of Minneapolis; and a
brother, Joseph Salwach, Hamtramck, Michigan; 23 grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren. Three sisters and a brother preceded her in death.
