Selves, Sharon K. (28 December 1976)
The Granton United Methodist Church was the setting for the December 28 wedding
of UW-Platteville students, Miss Sharon K. Selves and Kurt I. Cook. The Rev.
William Noble officiated at the 7:30 p.m. ceremony for the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Lee Selves and the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cook, all of Rt.2 Granton
The bride appeared in a chapel-length gown of white velvet adorned with pearl de
tailing at the neckline and waist and fashioned with a full train. A full-length
veil completed her ensemble, which was accented by a bouquet of elegance
carnations, white pompons, baby’s breath and holly.
Attending the couple were Miss Elaine Thorsell, Black River Falls, and Loren
Meddaugh, Granton. Miss Thorsell wore a gown of cranberry-colored knit and
carried a nosegay of white carnations, blue starflowers and holly.
Miss Shirley Stanley was the organist.
Following the ceremony, the newlyweds greeted guests at a reception in the
church parlors.
The new Mrs. Cook, a 1976 graduate of Granton High School, is presently majoring
in business administration at the UW-Platteville, where her husband is majoring
in ag engineering. He is a 1975 Granton High School graduate.
They will live in Platteville.
