Dahnert, Herman (13 April 1894 – 3 January 1977)

Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. from the Neillsville United Church of Christ, for Herman Edwin Dahnert, 82, of Neillsville, who died suddenly January 3 while visiting in Los Angeles, Ca. The Rev. Gary Clark officiated, and burial followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Herman Dahnert, son of Carl and Alvina Simdon Dahnert, was born April 13, 1894, at Marshall in Dane County. He moved to Clark County as a young boy with his parents and was educated at the Carlisle School. His marriage to the former Anna Seelow took place May 5, 1917, in Neillsville. Mr. Dahnert farmed in the Town of Levis until 1945 when he retired, and he and his wife moved to Neillsville. He did carpenter work in the Neillsville area for many years. Mr. Dahnert was a member of the United Church of Christ.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two daughters, Mrs. John (Veda) Reinart of Neillsville and Mrs. Donald (Elaine) Feuerhelm, of Hokah, Mn.; two sisters, Mrs. Arnold (Dorothy) Wilke of Almonte, Ca., and Mrs. Kenneth (Ethel) Pedder of Los Angeles, Ca.; two brothers, Charles Dahnert of Madison and Ben Dahnert of Rialto, Ca.; and 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Jim Feuerhelm, Dale Reinhart, Ardell Syth, Wayne Reinert, Lee Reinert and Kent Lonning.

Marie Vornholt sang “Jesus Pilot Me” and “Nearer My God,” The accompanist was Beulah Zoutendam.
