Zawadzki, John S. (13 Mar 1908 – 8 Mar 1976)

John S. Zawadzki, age 67, route 1, Owen, passed away at 8:30 p.m. Monday, March 8, 1976 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11th from Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, with Father Lawrence Zawadzki and Father Richard Fliss officiating.

A Parish Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday evening at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Kraut-Maurina Funeral Home, Owen.

John Zawadzki was born March 13, 1908 in Longwood. He married Victoria Pogodzinski June 28, 1933 at Thorp. He attended Poppe School in the Town of Longwood and farmed in the Town of Longwood all his life. For four years he served in the United States Marine Corps.

Surviving are his wife, Victoria, two sons, John of Greendale, and Gerald of Oak Creek; one brother, Walter of Skokie, Illinois; and three sisters, Mrs. Bernard (Agnes) Pogodzinski, Owen, Mrs. Joseph (Anna) Mance, Wilton, Wisconsin, Mrs. Sophie Siok, Palo Alto, California, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Zawadzki, John S. (13 Mar 1908 – 8 Mar 1976)

Burial rites were held for John S. Zawadzki Thursday, March 11th at 11 a.m. from Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, Wisconsin. Father Richard Fliss arranged for the beautiful services.

Officiating at the services were our Nephew, Fr. Lawrence Zawadzki, Fr. Richard Fliss, Fr. George Becker, Fr. Raymond Barnbach, and Fr. James Coke.

John was a member of the Holy Name Society. He served as trustee and treasurer of the Sacred Heart Church at Withee, also of the Holy Name Society.

He served on the building Committee for the Holy Rosary Church. John loved his relatives, his many friends whom he visited with along the way, and his good neighbors. He also enjoyed and loved his home and family.

Serving as pallbearers were James Petersen, Arthur Himes. Hub Missling, Mike Kovatch, Kris Rasmussen and Wedel Steiner.
