Poler, Mary (17 March 1892 – 12 February 1977)

Funeral services were held recently from the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, for Mrs. Ollie (Mary) Poler, 84, of Hatfield who died Saturday, February 12, in Neillsville. The Rev. E.T. Keller of Pittsville officiated, and burial followed in the Windfall Cemetery.

Mrs. Poler, the former Mary Nichol, was born March 17, 1892, in Waterloo, and educated in schools in the Town of Washburn. She was married to Peter Hohenstein on November 5, 1908, in Jefferson County. Her second marriage to Ollie Poler took place June 28, 1936. She lived on a farm in the Town of Washburn until moving to Granton, then lived there for many years before moving to Hatfield. Mrs. Poler was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Granton.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include two daughters, Mrs. Wilbur (Elsie) Fields of Granton and Mrs. LeRoy (Gladys) Palchik of Hatfield; one son, Herbert Hohenstein of Roscoe, Il.; four step-daughters and one stepson; and 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Dan Palmer, Detroit.

Pallbearers were Ray Hoeft, Ewald Schlinsog, Roland Quicker, Russell Houpt, John Hammond and Alvin Hanson.
