Smith, Patricia Lea (5 March 1977)
Miss Patricia Lea Smith became the bride of Jeffrey James Fitzmaurice in
ceremonies performed Saturday, March 5, at 4 p.m. at the Neillsville United
Church of Christ by the Rev. Gary Clark. A reception in the church basement was
followed by a dance at the Neillsville American Legion Hall.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Smith, Rt.1 Neillsville, and Mr.
and Mrs. James Fitzmaurice, Neillsville.
A colonial bouquet of daisies and yellow-orange roses accented the bride’s white
chapel-length gown of silk crepe t rimmed with Chantilly lace on the bodice,
sleeves and ruffle. The U-shaped neckline was embellished with Venise lace. Her
Camelot headpiece held a short veil of sheer illusion. Mrs. Smith presented his
daughter in marriage.
Mrs. Leslie Hemp, Granton, was the matron of honor and Mrs. Sally Smith and Miss
Dianna Smith were the bridesmaids. They appeared in spice-colored knit gowns
complimented by long-sleeved jackets with attached hoods. Each carried an
arrangement of three long-stemmed roses.
The groom was attended by Matthew Hemp, Granton, as bestman and by Michael R.
Smith and Rick Fitzmaurice as groomsmen. Ushering duties were shared by Rick
Dimmitt and Dave Michalak.
Pam Marty was in charge of the guest book.
Vocalists were Regi Keith and Lynn Schmeckpeper. Dawn Urban played.
The newlyweds, both graduates of Neillsville High School, will make their home
at Grand View Park, Rt. 1 Neillsville. They planned a short wedding trip.
The bride is a student beautician and will graduate in April from City College
of Cosmetology. Her husband is employed by a local manufacturing firm.
