Sturtz, Candyce Joan (12 March 1977)
Miss Candyce Joan Sturtz and Paul Gerard Karlen, both of Madison, were married
Saturday, March 12, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Neillsville. Officiating
was Fr. Dennis Lynch of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, Stevens Point.
The bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Sturtz II of Neillsville, presented
their daughter in marriage to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin H. Karlen of Stevens
Point.
For her wedding day, the bride chose to wear the gown worn by her mother at her
own wedding. The fitted gown was fashioned of Viennese lace over ivory satin. An
arrangement of white and yellow roses and gardenias with railing ivy made up her
bouquet.
Mary Alice Schield, Marshfield, friend of the bride, was her maid of honor.
Sherri Sturtz of Green Bay, sister of he bride, was her bridesmaid. They
appeared in champagne-hued gowns with fringed floral shawls. Their bouquets
included cymbidium orchids, trailing English ivy and sprengeri.
Friends of the groom, Michael Cashin of Stevens Point and Chris Queram of
Madison, served respectively, as bestman and groomsman. Guests were seated by
Daniel Peterson of Oconomowoc, brother-in-law of the groom, and Skip Sturtz,
brother of the bride.
Music was by Ed Gungor and Bill Arndt of Marshfield.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held at the Neillsville Country
Club.
The newlyweds will be at home in Madison after March 21.
