Karaba, Bonnie (3 Apr 1976)

Father Joseph Martinson of St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield, performed the nuptial mass which united Miss Bonnie Karaba and Mr. Larry Rasmussen in marriage on Saturday, April 3rd, 1976 at a 1:30 service.

Jean Rasmussen, organist, accompanied the soloist, Maureen Draxter, who rendered “We’ve Only Just Begun” and “For Baby, For Bobby.”

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Karaba, Owen, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Rasmussen of Marshfield. Both young people are employed in Marshfield, where they work at the Book and Stationary Store.

When given in marriage by her parents, the bride was attired in a bridal gown fashioned with a Venice lace trimmed bodice and A-line skirt with long full sleeves. He Camelot headpiece had attached a fingertip veil edged with lace.

Serving as maid of honor was Miss Joan Karaba of Eau Claire, and bridesmaids, Mrs. Donna Larson, Eau Claire, Scheree Smith, Sun Prairie, Janice Rasmussen and Cheryl Gennett, Marshfield.

Their gowns were styled with halter tops of poly-knit designed with V-neckline, full circle skirt and short capes closing at the neckline, forming a Mandarin collar. They wore straw braid picture hats with matching crown of orchid and short streamers flowing in back. The maid of honor was in violet while the bridesmaids were in orchid. They carried baskets of orchids and white daisies, baby’s breath and ivy.

Jana Karaba served as flower girl, and wore a gown styled like the bride, and she carried a basket of white daisies.

The groom was attired in a white tuxedo and the best man, John Schutts, and groomsmen, Dennis Rasmussen, Tom Alf, Ron Fischer and Steve Uthmeier all wore white jackets and black pants. Both fathers wore tuxedoes like the groomsmen, as did the ushers, Jack Rasmussen, Dave Larson, Gary Zophie and Kim LeMoine.

A 6:30 wedding dinner and reception were held at the Dorchester Memorial Hall, followed by dancing to the music of the Roger Allen Orchestra.

Over 400 relatives and friends from Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin were in attendance. Following the honeymoon, which took them to Florida, the newlyweds will make their home in Marshfield.
