McCorison, John M. “Jack” (25 Feb 1909 – Apr 1976)
At 11 a.m. this forenoon, Wednesday, April 14, 1976, funeral services for John
M. (Jack) McCorison, 67, of Owen, were conducted from the United Church of
Christ. The Rev. Donald Stats officiated, with burial being made at Riverside
Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Lyle Haas, S. K. Grimes, Glen Tieman, Carl Riber,
Fred Amacher and Adolph Czeshinski.
Mr. McCorison was born February 25, 1909 in Ladysmith, and moved in 1926 to
Marshfield, where he graduated from the former McKinley High School. He later
attended Ripon College and the University of North Dakota.
He was employed by Weinbrenner Shoe Co. in Marshfield from 1936 to 1945, and
then worked for George P. Hoff Hardware of Curtiss from 1946 to 1949. He later
worked for Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. of Minneapolis.
Mr. McCorison married the former Dorothy Hoff on June 5, 1937, at Menomonee,
Michigan. She survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Woodrow (Jane) Wall, Eau Claire; three
brothers, George, Denver, Colorado, the Rev. Lyle E., Corinth, Vermont, and
Louis, Yucca Valley, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. E Norman (Margaret). Kamps,
Marshfield, and two grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were two brothers and a sister.
