Opelt, Brenda Kay (7 May 1977)
St. John’s Lutheran Church at Christie was the setting for the May 7 exchange of
marriage vows between Brenda Kay Opelt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale Opelt, Rt.
3 Neillsville, and Duane Lee Boon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boon, Rt. 1
Greenwood. The Rev. Ralph Stuebs officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony, which was
followed by a reception at the Neillsville American Legion Hall and a dance at
the Silver Dome Ballroom.
Presented in marriage by her father, the bride appeared in an empire style gown
of polyester knit and Venise lace fashioned with a U-neckline and skirt sweeping
into a chapel train. Her head was covered by a matching lace-edged, circular
veil. She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses with baby’s breath.
The couple’s attendants were Donna Lueck and Mark Chadwick, Norfolk, Va. Miss
Lueck’s flowers were white roses with red baby’s breath. Guests were seated by
Rick Opelt and Allan Boon.
The newlyweds are living on Rt. 1 Greenwood. The groom, who is engaged in
farming, is a graduate of Neillsville high School and of Mid-State Technical
Institute, Marshfield.
