Jake Johnson, the oldest businessman in the Village of Curtiss, will soon
retire, as he will not renew his tavern license this year.
Instead he has sold the tavern to Richard Nunemaker of Withee, and will retire
after having operated a tavern in the village for the past 43 years, 40 of which
have been in the same location.
He and Mrs. Johnson will continue to make their home in Curtiss, having
purchased a large trailer home, which they will move onto the lot to the
immediate north of their tavern.
