Tuesday, April 13th, 1976, Owen Brownies and their mothers enjoyed a tea
planned, prepared and served by the Brownies.
Each girl had a job to do, which included making sandwiches, Kook-aid, serving
coffee, and putting cookies on a tray, setting up chairs, etc. Three brownies
were in charge pinning the corsages, red, white, and blue yarn flowers.
Bars, cookies, pickles, carrot sticks and Easter Lily shaped sandwiches were
served.
A play titled “Nursery Rhyme Easter,” was presented by some of the Brownies. An
Easter Poem was read, song sang and a flag ceremony performed.
About 20 mothers were present and many little brothers and sisters.
Easter Bunny favor baskets of candy were taken home for “Moms” and “Daughters’
to share.
We enjoyed our day and hope that all mothers did too. We tried to let the
Brownies do it along.
