Barbara Lee and Howard Clawson, both formerly of Neillsville, were married June
9 in Cedar Rapids, Ia. The Rev. Charles Mehaffey of Asbury United Methodist
Church officiated at 5:30 p.m. candlelight ceremony performed before an altar
decorated with tangerine tinted carnations, white mums, Shasta daisies and
baby’s breath.
The bride held a nosegay of similar flowers as she was presented in marriage by
her stepson, Tom Lee of Chicago, Il. Her floor length gown of sunset tangerine
polyester crepe de chine in empire styling featured capelet sleeve and
rhinestone buttons.
Mrs. George (Joanne) Cowell, daugher of the groom, and George Cowell, Cedar
Rapids, were the couple’s attendants. Mrs. Cowell in basically tangerine paisley
print. A gardenia surrounded by tangerine tinted carnations formed her corsage.
White carnations boutonnieres accented the men’s suits.
Organ selections included “Wedding March” and “Because.”
Following the ceremony, a dinner was served at the Colony Inn, Amana, Ia., for
all guests and Rev. and Mrs. Mehaffey.
The newlyweds, who plan a wedding trip for late autumn, are at home at 150 Front
St., Postville, Ia. The groom is self-employed as a saw repair shop operator.
