Albrecht, Mr. and Mrs. Richard (Golden – 14 June 1977)
The children of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Albrecht of Neillsville honored their
parents with an open house in observance of their golden wedding anniversary
Sunday afternoon, June 19, at the Masonic Temple. It was a delightful afternoon,
with approximately 114 friends and relatives present for the occasion.
Tables in the dining room were decorated for the occasion with centerpieces of
white and gold roses. A special anniversary cake, also in gold and white,
featured gold frosting rosed in a heart-shape arrangement.
Richard Albrecht and Emilie B, Frei were married June 16, 1927, at the Frei home
in Neillsville by Rev. Bixler. Both have lived in the Neillsville area since
before their marriage.
Mr. Albrecht was born in Green Lake County and moved to a farm west of
Neillsville as a small child. He became an automobile mechanic and later
operated the Mobil filling station in Neillsville. Now retired, he busies
himself with gardening and still enjoys bowling.
Mrs. Albrecht, a native of Monticello, moved with her parents to a farm south of
Neillsville. A teacher by profession, she taught for about 23 years in area
rural schools before retiring. Nowadays she enjoys raising flowers and has many
hobbies to keep her occupied.
The Albrecht’s children are Mr. and Mrs. John Richard Albrecht of Palouse, Wa.,
Mr. and Mrs. George Albrecht of St. Paul, Mn., and Mr. and Mrs. Eugene (Sarah)
Smigelski of Atwater, Ca. There are four grandchildren, Susan Lynn, Cynthia Ann
and Christine Lee Smigelski and Jennifer Albrecht.
