LOYAL - Services for Mrs. Fred (Ethel) Uhrig, 80, Route 2, Loyal, who died
Thursday morning at Neillsville Memorial Hospital will be Saturday at St.
Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal.
The Rev. James Logan will officiate. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery,
Marshfield.
Visitation is at the Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.
The former Ethel Laufenberg was born May 17, 1902 in Highland, the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward (Catherine Perrick) Laufenberg. She received her education
in Highland and Marshfield schools. She was employed for 35 years by the
Weyerhauser Co., Marshfield, retiring in 1968.
Her first marriage was to Norton Spuhler May 17, 1921; he died February 2, 1954.
On November 30, 1963, in Loyal, she was married to Fred Uhrig. He survives.
She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and the Parish Council of
Catholic Women.
Also surviving are one son, LaVern Spuhler of Loyal; four sisters, Mrs. Jack
(Leone) Motl of Phoenix, Mrs. Ervin (Addie) Witt and Mrs. Len (Evelyn) Hedler,
both of Oak Creek, and Mrs. Sherman (Cassie) Gates of Marshfield; two brothers,
Eugene Laufenberg of Waukesha and Harold Laufenberg of Dalton; three
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was also predeceased by one sister and three brothers.
