Rieder, Alice (28 October 1922 – 19 June 1977)

Funeral services were to be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Mrs. William (Alice) Rieder, 54, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died Sunday, June 19, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield following a brief illness. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ was to officiate, and burial was to following the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Rieder was born October 28, 1922, in the Town of Hewett to Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Laager. She received her education in schools in Clark County, then worked in Chicago for many years. Her marriage to William A. Rieder took place in 1950 in Neillsville. Following their marriage, the couple farmed for a number of years in the Town of Weston. Mrs. Rieder was an employee of Memorial Hospital for 11 years.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sisters, Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Black River Falls, Mrs. Harvey (Bertha) Sherman of Eau Claire and Mrs. Bert (Ann) Lenz of Phoenix, Az.; and three brothers, Charles Laager of Thorp, Fred Laager of Eau Claire and John Laager of Riverside, Ca.

Rieder, Alice #2 (28 October 1922 – 19 June 1977)

Funeral services were held June 22 from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for Mrs. William (Alice) Rieder, 54, of Rt. 2 Neillsville, who died June 19 in Marshfield. The Rev. Gary Clark of the United Church of Christ officiated, and burial followed in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Stan Pekol, Clifford Winter, Charles Anderson, Harry Ambelang, Harley Miller and George Borden.

Mrs. May Peters sang, “O For a Closer Walk With God and “What a Friend,” accompanied by Deon Spangler.
