Goessl, Herbert I. (9 September 1922 - 30 April 1983)

CURTISS -- Herbert I. Goessel. 60, of Curtiss was dead on arrival at the Colby Clinic.

Services will be Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Dorchester. The Rev. James Schaeffer will officiate. Burial will be in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Less Bowen, Virgil Bublitz, Eddie Krause, Roger Treffert, Dale Thompson and Tom Mulvanny.

Visitation will be at the Maurina Funeral Home, Dorchester.

He was born September 9, 1922 in the Town of Hoard, Clark County, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Irving (Theresa Decker) Goessl. He received his education at St. Louis Catholic Church.

He married Jean Walkama June 12, 1945 in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. They farmed in the Town of Hoard until 1981, when they moved to Curtiss. He was employed by the Bowen Feed Mill in Curtiss for several years, and served as supervisor of the Town of Hoard for many years.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, and the Men's Catholic Order of Foresters.

Surviving are his wife; four sons, Richard of Withee, William of Dayton, Ohio, Bruce of Yuba City, California and Daniel of Curtiss; one foster daughter, (Mrs. Terry (Cathy Kuramda) Arndt of Withee; his mother, Mrs. Theresa Goessl of Abbotsford; nine grandchildren; four brothers, Clarence and Orlando of Stetsonville, Ted of Marshfield and Peter of Curtiss; three sisters, Mrs. Marcella Deeter of Arizona, Sister Celine Goessl of Appleton and Mrs. John (Mercedes) Kapfhamer of Stetsonville.

He was predeceased by a son, James in 1965, and his father in 1976 and two sisters.
